Workshop "Atelier du Bois".

What was previously an old cow barn is now a beautiful workshop,  with a lot of possiblities for woodworking. Sawing massive wood to the correct width and length, shorten wood on the sliding table, sawing sheet material on the vertical panel saw and planing, milling or twisting massive wood, anything is possible.
We customize a lot of Douglas wood. It originates from the forest located on the border between departments Creuse and Puy-de-Dome. Forestry in this area is done right and it doesn’t need a lot of transportation to get all the wood in the workshop. By using this wood we are trying to add durability to our woodworking.
In the workshop massive wooden barn- or stable doors can be custom made, by either your or our design. We also create window- or door shutters. For all these outdoor applications we use Douglas wood. In our atelier we can also create furniture by either your or our design, these can be made with massive wood or sheet material.

From bid to realization.

Initially we come on site to judge the work to be done. We discuss the possibilities and make a plan, if necessary we clarify the plans with a sketch. Finally a bid is made. The definitive measurements will be determined and the drawings will be made. At last it’s time to get to work in the workshop. We will do the installing ourselves, so everything will be the way we agreed.

How come?

​In the Netherlands I have been a furniture maker / carpenter for a long time. I have worked in many different companies and learned a lot. In recent years I have been a teacher at the HMC Rotterdam for the MBO furniture making course. Now working in my own private workshop in Les Trois Taillants in France.
In the workshop.......

​The workshop is an old cow stable with a new concrete floor and power flow. Meanwhile, the workshop is equipped with a complete collection of woodworking machines. From planers to sawing and milling machines. From drilling machines to wood lathe. Everything is there.
What is possible?

​Virtually everything that has to do with woodworking is possible. I work here with the support of the many machines.
Large barn doors and window shutters have now become my specialty. In addition, furniture can also be made.
